Selection procedure

Applicants from Germany and the EU

  • Start of studies: Winter semester only
  • Application deadline: 1 June – 15 July (as per arrival in Dean's Office)
  • Study places: 30 per academic year

Due to the limited number of available study places, a university-specific admission restriction process has been implemented. Allocation of study places occurs following the waiting period (10%) and after the selection process (90%). During the selection process, approximately 100 applicants will be invited to a selection interview occurring at the end of July / beginning of August (see below). The invitation is based on the average credit points in the following subjects: mathematics (double rating), first and second highest-rated science.

Prospective German students, as well as foreigners and stateless persons who have a German student permit (i.e., were awarded their secondary school leaving certificate within Germany), as well as nationals of member states of the European Union, may apply until 15 July at:

Dean of Studies of the Medical Faculty
Molecular Medicine
Breisacher Str. 153
79110 Freiburg

The selection interviews for the B. Sc. in Molecular Medicine – beginning in winter semester 2020/21 – will take place on Thursday, 30 July 2020. An alternative date cannot be offered, and a selection interview via telephone or similar is also not possible. Personal presence is required at interviews.

Please note that in the event of either acceptance or rejection, no application documents will be returned.
